WOW, what an amazing WebCam. I'm not even sure where to start. I have went through three premium WebCams prior to this Tenveo webcam that all required drivers, third-party software, or you were forced to use a sister app to just use the WebCam and they were all just subpar.. This WebCam is truly a plug-and-play device, no drivers needed. You simply plug it in and it just works perfectly. There are so many pros to this WebCam. I'm going to try to fit them all in. Forgive me if I miss a few and that's even reading previous reviews, some negative. Well, I did not run into one negative issue with this camera that were in those negative reviews.
The build quality of this WebCam is spot on. It really looks like a premium WebCam. This device has no problem shooting 1080 at 60hz@ 60fps easily. Please do yourself a favor and look at the photos and even the photos do not do this WebCam justice for how nice it looks. Starting with the detailed label of the brand on the left side of the WebCam looks amazing all the way to the black mesh on both sides of the front of the WebCam. Once you flip it over to the base it has your quarter inch screw to plug-in or rather screw in to any type of mount that's compatible with a GoPro, which means a selfie stick tripod, you name it, it will be compatible with so many other attachments. I saw some people complain that the built in clip wasn't strong enough to hold a bigger WebCam to their monitor. I can say I did not have any problems with support and I use a curved monitor, and the WebCam stayed on my monitor as you can see in the last photo that I blurred out a bit for privacy/security.
This particular WebCam has built-in, dual speakers and a microphone. The microphone picks up sound perfectly with noise cancellation features that work quite well. The speakers are actually impressive, as I wouldn't expect them to be very loud, but I have it tied into a sound system anyway so it works out great. However, I did test it without the sound system to truly test them out and see how loud they are and can assure you the speakers are ample enough to have a zoom call, Microsoft teams call ,Skype call, you can hear anyone just fine. I saw in some reviews, and some people were unhappy about the speakers, but I can honestly say both the microphone and the speakers perform very well and you will have no problem with hearing others or them hearing you.
I love that the WebCam has a privacy cap which is magnetic. Also when you plug this in via USB Type-A there's a ring around the camera that glows green, basically letting you know that it has power and it's ready to go. Next, when you're ready to use the camera and it's actually transmitting a signal or recording you, that ring will turn blue to let you know you're on camera which I think is a very handy feature for privacy. While the bottom mount itself does tilt forward and backwards about 50 to 60° nothing major, it's definitely enough to help you out it does not turn 360° like some other smaller cameras but again it's enough to do the job due to the 116° field of view and with that quarter inch screw on the bottom, again you can use tripod to get the same outcome of a 360 pano shot if you'd like or just more freedom with movement.
I have to say this again, the fact that this is a true UPnP ( Universal Plug n Play ) product is just amazing. It's getting hard to find WebCams like that, there's always a subscription or a third-party piece of software or app that you need or drivers because there is money in that for those companies. I honestly respect this cameras simplicity, they focused on a good design and build with good features. For my money, that will win me over every time aside from the fact that it should just be this easy to use an aftermarket WebCam and this company did it and they did it well.
This product gets five stars for me. I am 100% happy with it and so glad I picked it up. I'm sure I'm missing some features to share. Oh, measurements, it's roughly 7.5 inches long and 1.5 inches high. It's a beautiful WebCam, it's not to big at all and quite manageable. This review has gotten fairly long and I apologize, it's just nice to have a quality camera with no strings attached.
I could go on and on because I'm so happy with it. If you're in the market for a new WebCam do not hesitate to pick this one up, it's going to be the easiest for you. Read the directions, It will tell you what it's requirements are as far as your operating system, whether, windows, or Mac, or Linux it's all very easy to set up, use and just works. It's also worth noting I have gotten this WebCam to work on tablets via adapters ( both IOS & Android ) and it works just fine. As long as you have a camera option on the on the device and an adapter for the Type-A port you could almost use this on any device that has a video call option.
I have nothing bad to say about this product. Every bit of this product is spot on and I highly recommend it to anyone. It comes in at a great competitive price point and if you wanna upgrade your laptops camera, this is the one to do it with, it's also going to be one of the easiest set up.
